WWE 2k20 is actually the World Wrestling Entertainment game series' 21st shot at sports entertainment supremacy. The pro-wrestling game is available on consoles, but that doesn't mean Windows computer users need to buy yet another piece of hardware. As long as you own a fairly powerful Microsoft machine, one equipped with a 64-bit Windows OS, you too can pit yourself against the legends of the WWE ring.

A Venerable Pro Wrestling Game Series

This is one of these top-tier games that receive an update every year. So, what does WWE 2k20 have to offer? Is there a reason to upgrade from the previous edition? Developed by 2k Sports, the game does simulate the career of a wrestling Allstar very well, although there are complaints of bugs being made by some owners of this version. Hopefully, patches will fix the glitches. In the meantime, at least on a well-equipped computer, one that has all of its graphics settings turned all the way up, the game does look amazing. It's almost as if you can feel beads of sweat flying off the battling contestants as they slam each other to the floor in the ring. The game camera even simulates film grain when certain dynamic fights scenes are played out. Bone-jarring impacts, lots of patterned lycra costumes and masks, plus plenty of off-the-cuff arguing, all of these features are there to pull you deep into the game.

Bring On The Smackdown Divas

Here's one new addition to the franchise that'll bring gamers running. The WWE series has always provided a full roster of pro wrestling Allstars, but they were all male. Well, now the ladies of the wrestling world are getting a chance to participate as well. Now, as part of the MyCareer mode, you can take on the identity of a female wrestling megastar. Live your pro wrestling dreams as a favorite male fighter or switch to a celebrity lady wrestler. Regardless of your choice, you'll be taking your pro through a story-like career, complete with training matches and a storyline driven script. Trash talk, bad jokes, fight commentary and more, all of the fun you'd expect is there for you to experience. As the game progresses, you'll see musclebound men pull off their signature fight moves, diva lady fighters strut the ring while circling their lithe contestants, and tons of other just-as-compelling gaming features. All the same, the game doesn't really seem to improve greatly on the previous version. Apart from the addition of WWE Women's Evolution, players don't receive a big boost in gaming extras.

Explore The Gameplay Mechanics

So your purchase of WWE 2k20 will see you gain access to a gender-equalized pro wrestling roster. There's the Four Horsewomen to fight, or you can relive key matches in their career. Different fight types are selectable, so play a tag match today, switch to a showcase bout tomorrow, and then you can finish off your gaming week by playing King of The Ring or Royal Rumble. You'll take the slow walk to the venue, hear the cheers and jeers of the crowd, and experience every choreographed fight move in high-definition. The detail is there to create a fully immersive fight, then the gameplay mechanics carry you that last fighting inch into the brawl. As you win these battles, you'll open up hex spots on a skill tree. Growing stronger and battle-toughened, your next fight takes advantage of the new skills you've unlocked.

Does WWE2k20 Earn A Champion's Belt?

Being able to play as either a man or a woman, that's a fairly desirable feature. All the same, that might not necessarily be enough to part you from your hard-earned cash. Then there's the bugs and gaming glitches to worry about, too. The story works well, so the journey up the pro ranks does feel like a personal one, and there's a deep feeling of success every time a hard to achieve goal is achieved. Furthermore, progress up the skill tree makes it feel as if you're becoming a better fighter, which is probably how real professionals feel as they improve. Eventually, after much training and storyline cut scenes, you'll be fighting Hall of Famers and wondering whether next year's edition will have even more gameplay features to feed your wrestling obsession. Until then, though, you've got a fight coming up, so get that spandex costume resdy.
